On Monday night, we drove to a huge park so Ben and Paul could throw a frisbee around and the kids could play on the playground. The kids were so cute that evening and it was a little surreal to be outside at the park in the middle of January.

Nature Walk, Playing at the Park, and In-N-Out
On Tuesday morning, Paul had to go in to school for a bit, so Becca took us to a nearby park for a little nature walk and to play at the park.

It's so great that parks there have these canopies to shield the sun and keep the kids a little cooler, especially for the hot months. The sun is so intense there.
After the park, we swung through In-N-Out for some yummy burgers and headed home for the kids' naps.
U of A Medical Center and El Charro - Tuesday Afternoon/Evening
I wasn't prepared for what we saw when we walked up to the U of Arizona Medical Center on Tuesday afternoon. This is where Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was being treated and where many of the others who were injured were taken on the day of the shooting.
There were still news trucks lined up, waiting for updates and report on location.
It was amazing to see how many people had left candles, flowers, signs, cards, stuffed animals for the Congresswoman and to memorialize those who died in the incident.
There were a lot of people walking around, reading the signs, quietly taking it all in.
Paul's in his third year of a doctoral program doing cancer research at the U of Arizona. His lab is in the medical center and he had a neat view when President Obama's motorcade came through last week as he came to visit the Congresswoman.

After touring campus, we had dinner at El Charro, which is a famous Mexican restaurant in Tucson.

It's not great when your kids are already a little wild before dinner at a restaurant... :) Charlie and Henry were pretty busy throughout our meal there!
Crazy kids!
This picture was on the host desk of the restaurant - a signed picture from Gabrielle Giffords to the restaurant, which sent food to the troops at some point. It's obvious the shooting has made a big impact on the community there. It's crazy to me that we traveled to Tucson just one week after everything happened.
Paul, Becca, and Henry Family Pictures
Before we flew home today, I took some family pictures of Paul, Becca and Henry. Becca is due with their second child in May, so it was fun to get some pictures of just the three of them before things change in a few months. Here they are in front of their place - I love the gate and brick and Henry's happy expression!
Henry was on the move and not too interested in staying in one place :) He is such a cute little guy though. I think 18 months to 2 1/2 yrs old is the hardest phase to photograph because kids at that age are busy busy busy but too young to reason with. We did bribe cute Henry with the promise of a treat, which worked pretty well!
Thanks for everything Paul, Becca, and Henry! We had a great time visiting you and your pretty city.
