Charlie at 18 Months

There is something so cute about a young toddler learning how to talk. Charlie is officially 18 months old now and all of the sudden is having a big word explosion. He copies a lot of our words now and lights up when we understand what he's saying or asking. Charlie got to go to nursery in church yesterday and was totally fine! I had subbed in nursery for the month of June, so Charlie came in with me and Eli then and I think he was just happy it was his turn too. There are a ton of kids three and under in our ward, so he and Eli are in different nursery classes.

And speaking of Sunday, yesterday someone pulled the fire alarm just after our ward had ended (the rumor is it was a visiting kid who pulled it). The other ward was just starting, so it was a little crazy seeing both wards piling out onto the front lawn. Eli had wide eyes (the alarm freaked him out a little bit because it was so loud), but it turned into a highlight when he got to meet one of the firefighters who were all decked out in his gear.

At 18 Months, Charlie likes:

• Cars, trains ("Choo choo - TRAIN!")
• Honey nut cheerios for breakfast, lots of fruit throughout the day, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, tortilla soup
• LOVES stuffed animals - like Leo the dog, Panda bear, Kitty, zebra, etc.
• Is a huge thumb sucker any time his blankie is around; otherwise he keeps it out of his mouth (usually he just has blankie when going to sleep)
• Always lets me know when he's done eating with a loud, "ALL DONE!"
• Loves to copy Eli and do whatever he's doing - coloring, playing with plah-doh, swinging, running around, playing in the sand table
