Another Boy :)

We're having another boy! So excited for another sweet little guy on the way. Eli has started calling him "Trio" and is convinced this is going to be his name. I love Eli's drawing below of baby Trio in my belly with arrows pointing everywhere.

And for clarification, the T E were the start of him spelling Trio (but then Eli realized those weren't right), and he wrote MOM starting with the M in between my shoes going down (it kind of looks like he was trying to write dumb, but that's not the case :)
We almost had to wait an extra week because things had to be shifted around with scheduling (one of the ultrasound tech's husband was dying and the other tech at my doctor's office was going to be out of town). I was dying to know and my irrational pregnant brain could not accept that we would have to wait seven more days when I had already been counting down until our originally scheduled doctor's appointment. So I convinced them to let me come in the day before and it all worked out well.

I was preparing myself ahead of time for the likelihood that it was another boy, but still had to laugh at the ultrasound when it was very obvious (before the tech told us) that this was a baby boy. Of course it would be fun to change things up and have a girl, but I've been thinking of all of the great benefits to having all boys. We're already set with the clothes, toys, etc. The room that Eli and Charlie share is huge and could easily fit three boys if we wanted them to share someday. I have two sweet, imaginative, fun little boys and love being their mom, so bring on another! :)

It's A....

We had a great ultrasound today! The baby has all of its major parts/organs and everything looks normal. See below for lots of pictures of our little one. You'll have to watch the video to find out if it's a boy/girl! (don't worry, you'll find out in the first two seconds) The end of the video is funny because Eli heard music playing in the other room and randomly started dancing.

We think the baby's profile looks like Eli...

We're really excited! Who knows about names though... that part is hard!

Fun Labor Day Weekend

It's been so nice having Ben home for the three-day weekend. Eli loves it when he lifts him up high.
Eli learned how to eat corn on the cob on Saturday.

But by the end, as has been typical over the last few weeks, he was in tears for no apparent reason. I really hope his molars finish coming through soon, because the constant off and on crying is hard!! (so far this morning, I think he has cried more than he was happy, poor guy)
By the way - I moved my ultrasound date to this Thursday, Sept. 4th! So put your votes in soon for whether you think the baby is a boy or girl (the poll is on the right top side of the blog).

Ultrasound at 12 Weeks

I had a first trimester screening test today - everything looked good in the ultrasound. I love seeing the baby's hand in the picture below - he/she was moving around quite a bit and it was fun to watch!

Thanks Mom for watching Eli during the test! He was a disaster at my last OB appointment, so I opted to not take him to this. Eli really has an aversion to doctors, nurses, or anyone who is dressed like one... someone suggested we get him a toy doctor's kit so he doesn't cry every time he sees a stethescope :)
