I set our compact dig. camera on the table (hence the not-so-great angle or cinematography) and got this video of Eli recently just after finishing dinner. Please ignore my voice - but enjoy my cute, chubby, laughing little boy cracking up at my silliness. I have another quick video to post but will do it tomorrow or sometime this week.

Are you tired of dreary weather pictures??
Despite the rain, I dragged myself and Eli to the gym (as soon as I pulled into my parking space it started torrentially raining so we walked in totally drenched - yuck!) and had a good workout with my friend Sarah C. (we motivate each other to go to the gym on gross days like this, thank goodness)
After the gym, I was feeling really hungry so I decided to carry Eli and walk over to the nearby Cosi to get a turkey sandwich... well of course there were spots along the sidewalk that hadn't been shoveled very well, and I totally BIFFED it and slipped, falling (holding Eli) on my bum. Thankfully we were both fine since I have plenty of padding :) I must have made some sort of sound as I fell, because this guy walking in front of me turned around to see if I was okay, and said in a thick Eastern-European accent, "Are you okay? You should sue the city!" which made me smile! I stood back up, wiped the melting snow off my pants and continued on to get my sandwich, I'm sure with a nice wet bum look for the world to see.
And here is an update on the healthy living challenge - it's now been 4 weeks and I feel a big difference! I've lost 6 pounds and can fit into more of my pants/skirts that were pre-Eli, which is really exciting. If you're wanting to make a change in the new year, you should try the challenge! (or modify it to something that would work for you) I am way more inclined to stick to it because it's a competition, so it helps to do it with other people...
Study on baby products
I'm not sure what to think of this, but I just read an article published today stating 80 percent of babies tested in a study were exposed to chemicals (phthalates) that may be harmful to their development and could lead to male reproductive problems. Babies are being exposed to these chemicals from common baby lotions, shampoos, and powders that are housed in plastic with these harmful chemicals.Check out the Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database in the baby products category to see if your products tested high for these chemicals... mine did, unfortunately! (we've been using Mustela-brand shampoo/soap and lotion)
I find it interesting that phthalates are banned for use in personal products in Europe - why on earth are they allowed here??

Six More Weeks of Winter
This is from Friday, when we got almost a foot of snow:
I'm trying to embrace this cold and messy weather (just like I'm embracing my small space :) so yesterday we went over to Drew and Caroline's house to play in the snow and build a snow fort. I had given Drew some snow tools for his birthday in December, so it was fun to put them to use! Saralyn (their mom) was inside with Eli. Mike (their dad) came out later, but I didn't get any pictures then because I went inside after Drew got me with a snowball in the face and I was freezing!! (side note - the house is getting a new roof, so there were roofing materials in the front yard that helped create the fort)
