Rescuing a Butterfly

We found this monarch butterfly in the little storage space behind Charlie tricycle, which was full of rain water and was weighing the poor butterfly’s wings down so it couldn’t fly. Ben picked it up and put the butterfly on Eli’s finger.

Eli said the legs were too poky :)

But I was surprised with how long he let the butterfly stay on his finger!

After a while, Ben held the butterfly, snapped off a few flowers from a bush in our yard to give the butterfly some food…

Meanwhile, Charlie was working hard with Eli’s scooter. Charlie loves it way more than Eli.

I love seeing his little feet on this thing.

Riding on the scooter always puts a happy smile on little Charlie’s face.

As does playing basketball.

Later, Charlie dug out some sidewalk chalk out of our storage and got to work, writing on the pavers.

Here’s the butterfly in our kitchen when we went inside. When I went downstairs in the morning, the butterfly’s wings had dried and it was flying around the kitchen, so I opened the side door and let him out. He confidently flew away, and we feel good that we rescued a soggy butterfly :)

oh I love the soggy butterfly story. And great pics too with the fingers and butterfly. Charlie is super cute on that scooter. Sisi also uses the scooter more than kai right now.
