Morton Arboretum

On Thursday, I drove out to the western suburbs to meet up with Carrie and her boys at the Morton Arboretum. It has an amazing (HUGE) children’s garden that Eli absolutely loved.

Charlie was tired (hence the thumb sucking - poor guy didn’t get an afternoon nap that day), but was still in a decent mood.

Eli had a great time watching Alex and Sam climb around everywhere -

Why does it feel like winter is just around the corner??

Eli surprised me by how much he was climbing all over

Eli was definitely giving me a little attitude – it was obvious he didn’t want me getting in his way or moving us along to the next area, so I got lots of sour faces like this one:

But I got some more pleasant looks too:

Alex was Eli’s buddy, walking with him, helping him climb and navigate through the more difficult spaces:

Eli loved it.

Oh to have a 7-year-old! He was so helpful with Charlie too.

I couldn’t believe Eli was climbing up these steep bridges by himself! He was very determined.

This place looks pretty cool too. I can't believe how Alex and Sam have grown! I need to get back up for a visit sometime to see all you folks.
