Ben, Eli and I went to dinner tonight at one of our favorite Italian restaurants - Francesca's Bryn Mawr. It's really nice, but in a slightly rough neighborhood called Edgewater on the north side of Chicago. The food is delicious (and I usually eat an entire loaf of bread by myself :) and we had a nice time together. By the end though, Eli was squirmy and tired, so we let him walk as soon as we got outside, Ben holding one hand and me holding the other.
Our car was parked two blocks away, and we passed all kinds of interesting characters along the way... our favorite comment was from a lady who said, "Look at that shorty!" and smiled at Eli. So funny!
