It's official. For now, my name is "Aarah" to my sweet little boy.
Eli was saying "ma" sounds a few months ago, but more recently was constantly saying "da da da da" and it was clear he knew that was Ben. At the same time, he was making a lot of "AH!" sounds that were practicing the final result - Aarah! Ben and I thought we thought him saying Aarah for the last week or so, but it's so hard to tell if that's what they really mean.
But this morning at the lovely hour of 5:45 a.m., we could hear him saying "Da da?" and then "Aarah?" over and over from his room. I think it's so funny (but hope he'll call me ma ma someday).
I've been busy getting ready for a trip this week, so I haven't taken any pictures!! Shocking, I know. :) Here is a picture of Eli at two weeks old. I can't believe that was almost a year ago!

So cute. Hey, at least it's not "hey you." I think it's actually pretty sweet.
I didn't realize Eli had so much hair as a newborn. He's just darling!
Such a cute picture :-)! I think it is hilarious that he's calling you by your first name already. Ella went through a stage like that when she was a little older and it lost its charm after a couple weeks :-). Maybe it's a sign of genius that he has skipped Mama altogether and gone straight for Sarah!
I hope you have a great trip Aarah! What a cute little boy
so cute! I love your name! I can't believe how little he is in that picture! and how red blonde his hair looks!
have so much fun in utah!!
He's already calling you by your first name? That's funny...Araah!
Oh I love Aarahhh! and it could be worse like not calling you at all right?
Wow -- so fun! Reagan is not talking at all. I am trying really hard not to be worried -- she is a third child. But. . . . .anyway, my kids didn't start calling me by my first name till atleast two years of age! He is way ahead of the game.
I wonder if it is a "first kid" thing, Levi did that too, (called me Cami) but he also called Joe "Joe". It is probably because that's all they hear us called at home, so they think "why mama? No one else calls her that?!" I think it is so cute. Today Kaelan learned the word "Thank you" and he had been going around the whole day saying "ank ooo", or giving me things so I will say "thank you" and he can laugh at it! I love this stage, Don't you?!
Cute...Luukas still calls Teem by his name and not Daddy (most of the time). But maybe Eli will be different with you.
that is your new nickname...aarah!
Ethan still doesn't say Mommy but has been saying Daddy for almost a year. How fair is that?
Haha-that's funny. Kaitlyn says "I love daddy" but won't say it for mommy. Kids are funny with what they say.
