Winding Down at the Park

Today our outside temperature reached 70 degrees -
for the first time in 6 MONTHS. No Joke.

Those of you in California, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania can all feel happy that you've already enjoyed some warm sunshine this spring. Those of us in Chicago, IL are finally joining you.

We celebrated by going to the park around dinnertime.

It was pretty windy, but we didn't care.

Eli wasn't sure about the wood chips.
And he kept staring at the bigger kids running around the playground.
Eli was pretty mellow by the time we walked back home.

I put Eli to bed at 7 and Ben left to play soccer with some friends. I have an article due tonight that I still need to finish up! But I'm determined to go to bed earlier tonight...

I'm just the mad procrastinator :) It's way more fun to blog than write my article...

Cute pics! I love the one when he is in full "swing"! So cute. I am glad you guys are finally getting some warm weather. We are going to be going in the opposite direction this weekend, with SNOW expected and temperatures more like Mid-Winter than spring. Weird weather.

Such cute pictures! And I'm with you on using blogging to procrastinate other things :-)!

I just brought my camera lens w/ manual focus to the park - so it was tricky getting pictures that were in focus (esp. w/ the swinging/movement pics!). It was fun though.

You're getting to be quite the photographer. I wish you could help me with mine. He is such a doll. So happy to see the outside pictures of my favorite surroundings.

Yay! It's about time you guys got some good weather! Your pictures are adorable of Eli. I love the Cousins Forever shirt! Too cute. And I'm impressed you can get such clear swinging shots with a manual lens. I'm still saving for my nikon, but I'm about halfway there. I've checked out all kinds of books on photography and have read oodles of online tutorials. You're the reason why I want to get good at photography. I hope I can practice before any little ones come, so I can be as good at documenting their lives as you are with Eli. keep up the good work! im sure he will appreciate having such cute pics of himself when he's older...or at least his wife will someday :) (sorry for the long post!)

Such cute park pictures. He looks so grown up now, Sarah. I love his cousins shirt. Did someone make that for you? I would love the details -- that might be a fun cousin gift for Christmas.

For anyone else who is interested (I just emailed Rachel the info) - my sister-in-law Cami (on here as jcsev) designed and illustrated the Cousins Forever shirt. Isn't she talented??
