The Queasiness Comes and Goes...

We had Thai food and gelato last night - I guess not the best combo for me right now because I woke up feeling SO nauseous. I went back to bed as soon as Eli went down for his morning nap and slept for two hours. I woke up SO hot though because outside it's high 80s and humid today, so my place felt very WARM. (or in my extreme state today, I was roasting) I felt better thankfully after taking a cool shower and going to an air conditioned place with Eli when he woke up.
Now I'm back in my warm condo (I ran the a/c unit on turbo while we were gone to hopefully cool things off - but now it's off since Eli's sleeping and his door is closed where the a/c is) and I am feeling queasy again. The heat doesn't seem to agree with me right now either.

I thought the queasiness would be gone soon?? But it seems like it's been worse in the last few weeks. Let me know if you have foods that have helped curb your morning sickness, because everything I try (crackers, fruit, ginger ale, sprite, bread) does not agree with me. But not eating isn't great either.

A nurse once told me FRESH pineapple works good for nausea. I don't know if it would work for you, everyone is different!

I know it sounds weird, but hamburgers always made me feel better. Now it might not work for you, but for me the protein really helped me feel better quickly. Maybe you should take a nap with Eli in his room. Then you can enjoy the air conditioning as well! :)

For some reason salty things helped. Also, this is along the same lines as the pineapple suggestion, but papaya might help too.

Nothing has worked for me this time really, but as you say, not eating isn't good either. I have been eating a lot of peanut butter, which is something I don't usually eat. I dip carrots in it, have it on wheat toast, spread it on crackers for a late snack. I'm sure all that fat is really going to help me keep my weight under control this pregnancy! Oh well.

I ate popsicles all day long last summer--not the good fruity kind but the Otter-pop kind that are just sugar and water. The real fruit ones were too substantial and made the nausea worse, but the cheap ones cooled me off and made me feel so much better.

Aren't you looking forward to a place with central air?

Everything I love makes me nauseous during pregnancy. Try something you have never had before. Like a different brand of bread than you usually buy. The bread we had made me sick (and mom had 10 loaves frozen in the deep freeze, so that was all we were eating), so I made bread and it helped.

Raw veggies were good, strawberries. I'm sorry you feel so sick this time!

I was soooooo sick and could barely make it through work until the nurse told me to try to motion sickness wristbands. I was pretty skeptical but they WORKED! I bought mine at Walgreens but I have an extra pair if you want to try it out!

I put them on as soon as I woke up and didn't take them off until I went to bed and my vomiting all but stopped. I still felt queasy when I was too tired, but those wristbands saved me!

Being pregnant in the summer is just horrible! I feel your pain. Maybe this means you're having a girl! I know I've been sick as a DOG for at least 20 weeks with each of my pregnancies and look how they turned out!

As far as beating nausea, have you tried actual ginger? Nibbling on the crystallized kind helped me. Also, (for me) staying really well hydrated helps(although that means lots of trips to the bathroom). I hope this phase passes soon!

I always get extremely sick the first 5 months or so of pregnancy. I have found that sucking on lemon drops helps...hope this works for you, too!

Protein helped me sometimes, hamburgers and also bacon. Also both chewing gum (I found cinnamon worked best) and sucking on hard candy like Jolly Ranchers also helped.

The queasiness should go away soon, I hope the heat slacks off a little, too!

Sarah, you look so good! I hope you start feeling better soon! I was just there it seems :)I chewed on raw ginger at times it was so bad. There is some ginger syrup especially for prego women at the health food store. That helped too!
