Yesterday we took Eli to the Northwestern v. Ohio University football game. It's pathetic to admit this, but Ben and I never attended a game the entire 5 years he was doing graduate school here. So when we got free tickets to this game, we were excited!
It was a bright and sunny, warm day, and we had just come from our local ward's 5K Fun Run. There were quite a few runners this year (maybe 30? that's a lot for our ward!). I am proud to say that Ben won the race, and is now the two-time reigning champion for the most recent races (the last one was actually two years ago) My husband is SO competitive, especially with things like this, and I am a little relieved it turned out well because otherwise the rest of the day would have been full of rehashing the race. There was a guy eight years younger than him right on his heels (Ben said hearing his footsteps made him run harder) - he came in six seconds after Ben, so it was a close race.
Anyway, the football game was fun. We stayed for a whopping 45 minutes, which was fine with all of us. We were worn out from the morning and Eli was pretty tired by the time we went home. It was cute seeing him clap when other people clapped, though I don't think he understood why we were there or what was going on...
Northwestern won! They actually have a decent team this year, which is fun.

Sounds like Ben's 5K experience was very similar to ours! Just kidding.
Love the rosy red cheeks on Eli. Such a handsome boy. Glad you had fun.
Speaking of a "decent team"... how bout them Cougs!?!?!!!!!
Great job Ben!
Fun! Congrats on making it 45 minutes. I doubt we would have lasted 20...
It looks like there were a lot of people there. I'm glad you guys went. Looked like fun.
We went to the BYU-Wyoming game the same day; it was Nathan's first college football game, too! He was just like Eli, clapping and cheering when everyone else around him did. Very cute!
