Unusual House Guest

Yesterday we had a new creature visit our back yard... a SKUNK!!! He sauntered across the back yard and headed toward the garage and shed area.
He made himself at home and started digging a hold under the shed...
And crawled right under it! I have no idea if he's still there or not. YUCK!! Wouldn't it be my luck to get sprayed by this thing sometime this week? If anyone has skunk advice, let me know. :)

Holy Smokes! That is more than a little disconcerting . . .

That was some serious journalism on your part, though! I don't know that I would have been brave enough to get the pictures!

Oh sarah! so sorry. My sister had one under her deck. I guess you can call the city humane society and they will come a set up a trap for free?! Well in Michigan anyways. It's worth looking into I guess? Good luck, and congratulations!

Oh! Our house has been sprayed a couple times this year by skunks! Max found a nest of babies a while back too! He got sprayed! SO AWFUL!

We used to get those all the time at my house in Texas growing up. I hope he didn't spray because it will make it smell forever. Your house looks darling. I hope your pregnancy is going well. Looks like you guys had a good summer.

You've got to put some pep in your own le pu: eat garlic. Got to fight malodorous with more malodorous-er.

That skunk is crazy. I have never seen one up close. Hope it does not get under your house and shack up.

Oh, in Skokie there were tons of skunks by our 2nd apartment there. In Glenview, there is an area people have nicknamed "skunk alley." We dogsat for someone in that area once and were terrified to go out at night. Anyway, if you are ever unfortunate enough to get sprayed (hopefully not!), a woman I know who lives there has a recipe for some concoction to get rid of the smell. I guess tomato juice doesn't work as well as is rumored.
